The purpose of Humanity's Team is to awaken the world to the sacred belief and ancient truth that we are all one – one with God and one with life, in a shared global state of being – so that humanity's behavior may shift to reflect this understanding.

Humanity's Team is a spiritual movement whose purpose is to communicate and implement the belief that we are all one, one with God and one with life, in a shared global state of being, so that the behavior of humanity may shift to reflect this understanding.

Dubbed "a civil rights movement for the soul," the movement has over 20,000 adherents from more than 90 countries on six continents.

Humanity's Team was created by the spiritual author Neale Donald Walsch in 2003 in response to the crisis that he saw the human race facing following the events of September 11th, 2001.

Humanity's Team proposes a New Spirituality that enlarges and enhances humanity's current beliefs about God and about life in ways that could change how we live with each other, bringing peace and harmony to our planet at last.

The New Spirituality is not a new religion. Rather, it is an expansion of all our present theologies; an updating of them; a refreshing of them, rendering all of our current sacred teachings even more relevant to our present day and time.

Key to the New Spirituality is a belief that God is not separate from anyone or anything - and neither are we.

"A Civil Rights Movement for the Soul"

From its inception, Humanity's Team was organized as a global grassroots spiritual movement, not as a program, activity or initiative.

Movements respond to massive problems that have far-reaching consequences, touching many lives.

Two famous 20th century movements - Mahatma Gandhi's Indian Independence Movement and Martin Luther King Jr.'s U.S. Civil Rights Movement - transformed nations. They transformed nations through a complete adherence to the movements' truths under every circumstance and by helping other people see those truths, thereby changing hearts and minds, which changed behaviors.

Similarly, Humanity's Team supporters hold onto a truth - the eternal truth that We Are All One - and seek to make this truth evident through our lives lived, thereby helping others see this truth demonstrated, changing hearts and minds, which change behaviors.

Humanity's Team was founded in 2003 to address suffering and other issues stemming from the prevailing belief that we are separate from God, from each other and from all of life, and the companion belief in an authoritarian or malevolent God.

Many people, particularly in the West, are brought up to believe we are limited in most ways, have one life to live, and are separate from God, or Universe, as well as each other. Those who believe in God sometimes perceive God as angry and judging. Some even perceive God as endorsing killing under certain circumstances.

Most people are asleep to their true identity - to their Oneness with God, with each other and with all life. And their behaviors reflect this. Just look around the world, with its wars, terrorism, hunger and other painful conditions!

We in Humanity's Team see these conditions as largely a result of our beliefs about God and about life. But all this can change.

It can change when we become aware of the truth that We Are All One and then live our lives as demonstrations of this truth, rather than in denial of it.

This is why our movement has been dubbed “a Civil Rights Movement for the Soul.”

We in Humanity's Team see a healing truth in who we are - a truth that heals ourselves, our relationships, our communities and our world. We see that we are all part of one essence that some call God and others call Universe and that the one essence is sacred, divine, loving, compassionate, creative and eternal.

This is not a new idea. Prophets, messengers, saints and sages have shared this message since the beginning of time. It is shared in the Indian Vedas, in the Old and New Testaments, in most other sacred texts and in contemporary New Spirituality material. Oneness is also a hypothesis by quantum physicists and other scientists who say life is a unified whole with multiple dimensions, each complementing the other.

We Are All One is the one idea that truly changes everything. When we see God and Self in each other, we cannot help but nurture, love and support the other. When we embrace and embody our Oneness, we naturally care for the other person, place or thing. God and Self are in all of the other, so nothing is left out.

This is the invitation Humanity's Team is extending - to embrace and embody our Oneness and to extend the invitation to others. This is why we were formed as a movement.

We in Humanity's Team have set our intention to awaken the world to Oneness in a generation, so children will grow up in a very different world. Many of us are dedicating our lives to this objective and we intend to do this. Then, like other movements before us, we will disband when our objective is met.
