Unity Project: November - Not to Judge
Here is our project for November.
NOT TO JUDGE
Have you ever realized how many times a day we judge people, daily events, everything happening around us?
Here are a few examples:
You hit the road to go to the office and someone cuts you and drives on in traffic. Well! Another guy who has no manners! Of course, it never happens to you to be absent minded or preoccupied and not realize that you just cut someone else!
At the office, you open a file and realize that your assistant hasn't done the work as you had asked. So you think: I'm fed up of working with incompetent people! It didn't occur to you that maybe he or she hasn't understood what you wanted or your request wasn't clear enough. You judge at once! Are you so perfect that you never make any mistakes?
At lunch time you're looking for a place to park your car in front of a restaurant. You see a young driver parking his car in a space for handicapped people. You make the following comment: These young fellows, they're all lazy and irresponsible! I hope he gets a ticket!... and you happen to see a young man getting out of the car with crutches and only ONE leg. Once again you have judged too fast!
You see an obese person crossing the street in front of you and you think: she hasn't looked at herself in a mirror lately? What you don't know is that this person suffers from a hormone imbalance and even though she eats half of what you eat, she keeps on gaining weight! You judged her without knowing all the elements.
Do you think it would be possible this month to realize that any judgment we make is a judgment on ourselves, because what we notice on others is always a situation that we have not yet settled in our own life.
Because we're all ONE, when we judge someone, it's ourselves that we judge.
This month, let's practice our awareness for ONENESS and let's be tolerant with others because then, anyway, it's with ourselves that we show tolerance.
Namasté,
Francine
